We are a leading, independent provider of energy efficiency solutions for commercial, residential and industrial buildings. Since our inception in 2012, we have conducted 200+ energy audits and implemented over 40 efficiency projects that have generated accumulated savings exceeding AED 50 million. We are headquartered in the UAE and run projects in most of the GCC countries, we also have an office in Saudi Arabia under ENGIE Energy Services. Smart4Power draws its expertise from ENGIE a global energy and services leader and partner company ALEC, one of the most reputable contractors with extensive presence in and knowledge of the Middle East markets.

Bid Engineer

The ideal candidate shall have hands-on experience in development of medium to large scale engineering proposals(>=30MUSD), preferably within the industrial sector. Experience in energy performance contracting industry working with ESCOs in the region would be desirable. The candidate is expected to independently manage the full life cycle of a energy performance contract proposal submission starting for co-ordination with respective departments & sub-contractors, development of cost estimate & proposal documents as per the deadlines set by management. The candidate shall define and coordinate with suppliers the project requirements and ensure competitive quotes are received well in time. The candidate shall ensure that the techno-commercial proposals submitted exceeds market standards from technical & commercial point of view.

The candidate is expected to have excellent negotiation skills and should be a self-driven. The candidate should be capable to work in full compliance with strict deadlines with minimum supervision.

The candidate shall report to Commercial Manager- Energy services.

Responsibilities:

  • Pre Proposal Submission
    • Review of tender documents/Energy Audit team requirements on receipt to ensure its completeness.
    • Organize / take part in proposal initiation & review meeting along with Commercial Manager and head of departments.
    • Ensure that techno-commercial clarifications are raised by coordinating with internal departments, well in time to get better clarity on proposal submission.
    • In-house co-ordination with Energy Auditors, Project Managers, Finance, Operations team for preparation of proposal including follow-up, collection of input for proposal submission.
    • Clear understanding of work scope for proposed energy conservation measures & best estimation with respect to execution of project, which shall include material, labor, Offsite overheads, and onsite overheads costs.
    • Actively manage supplier/sub-contractor database.
    • Create subcontract enquiry packages and ensure availability of subcontract offers well in time through effective follow up.
    • Attend the site survey along with the energy auditors, implementation team and sub-contractors to finalize the material takeoff.
    • Ensure subcontractor proposals are complete & tabulated accurately on a proposal evaluation spreadsheet.
    • Ensure the estimate is built up methodically using advanced MS Excel® tools and in sufficient detail and is in accordance with good estimating practice. Sufficient explanatory notes are to be including referring the location of supplementary information.
    • Responsible to verify bill of materials based on inputs from energy audit team and sub-contractors.
    • Responsible for review/preparation of Internal Proposal approval documents and investment notes for the approval of commercial manager.
    • Preparation of technical & commercial proposals in MS Word® fully compliant to ENGIE Solutions branding policy and formatting requirements.
    • Ensure that commercial submissions to tenders are fully complied with all necessary details.

  • Post Proposal Submission
    • Co-ordinate & follow-up to ensuring post proposal submission clarifications are addressed.
    • Support in preparation of proposal presentations in MS PowerPoint® to client
    • Support in preparation of contract documentation along with supporting schedules.
  • Post Contract Award
    • Initiate kick-off meeting with project team and handover budget estimates
    • Maintain the quality of proposal folders and data archives for future reference.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent combination of education and technical experience.
  • A minimum of four (5) years experience with proposal/bid management
  • Good application knowledge in HVAC & Building Automation fundamentals & operation
  • Excellent Excel skills and other computer skills including MS Office®, VISIO, and MS Project®
  • Should demonstrate experience of having worked on proposals >30M USD

Senior Energy Engineer- Automation & Controls

The ideal candidate shall have a solid, hands-on experience in Integrated Building Energy Management Systems (BEMS) and Smart Building Automation based on Tridium N4 Framework. The candidate shall manage  the full implementation of building automation solutions along with the controls team for our energy saving projects in Middle East, from the assessment of control requirements to the detail design of the solution, system architecture, procurement coordination, implementation, integration and testing and commissioning. The candidate shall also implement, in conjunction with the company COO, the overall digital transformation strategy of the energy services division, which includes adoption to IoT solutions, Data analytics using Machine Learning which would further optimize the control of our energy saving projects. The candidate shall have hands on knowledge implementing control logics for key elements such as commercial and industrial Chiller Plant, HVAC distribution system (FAHU/AHU/FCUs), GRMS, etc. The candidate will oversee preventive maintenance, repair, re-commissioning, and general servicing of the control systems (including detailed troubleshooting). The candidate will be responsible for high levels of customer satisfaction through direct, onsite customer interaction. The candidate will be based in UAE though he /she will have to do frequent travels to Saudi and other GCC countries. Responsibilities:

  • Design, configuration, integration and implementation of control solutions in Buildings with focus on Energy Management & Remote Monitoring.
  • Development of system architecture diagrams, control schematics using MS VISIO/AutoCAD
  • Present the integration philosophy and system architecture to client and internal stakeholders
  • Perform complex Tridium N4 System preparation and design coordination
  • Work with energy audit/engineering group to create and/or verify Tridium N4 database;
  • Creates/reviews job specific programming for various integrated systems (controls, lighting, energy metering, etc) along with controls team.
  • Accountable for the effective resource planning, management, supplier & client coordination, and reporting of the project in line with business requirements.
  • Specify and procure control system related hardware and software that are suitable for retrofit applications.
  • Work with operations team to regularly monitor and review site performance against SLAs
  • Develop / upgrade the ‘Command control room’ located in Dubai & Riyadh.
  • Ensure best practices and processes across the engineering groups for the consistent delivery of automation and digital projects.
  • Manage relationships with Technology partners
  • Stay up to date with digital trends and identify key digital business opportunities in new sectors and markets

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent combination of education and technical experience.
  • A minimum of five (5) years programming experience with a BMS/Automation System Integrator /OEM in an operating engineering environment.
  • Tridium N4 certification required.
  • Tridium N4 Analytics certification preferred.
  • Diversity of controls manufacturer experience is desired as well as controls troubleshooting knowledge.
  • Good Knowledge in HVAC fundamentals & operation (Chiller, Pumps, District Cooling, FAHU, AHU, FCU, VAV, etc.)
  • Hands on experience working with open architecture protocols such as BACnet, Modbus, LON, M-Bus, KNX- EIB, DALI, OPC

Mechanical Engineer- KSA

Responsible for the design, engineering, installation, pre commissioning, commissioning and handing over of Building Services Mechanical Systems, in accordance to the project specifications and time frame, engineering adopted codes and good engineering practices. Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Studying all technical drawings, documents and any revisions thereon.
  • Executing all the required calculations for the mechanical systems (i.e. chilled water pipe sizing, duct sizing,  prerssure drop caclualtion (air & water), cooling load assessment, ..etc).
  • Selection of material and equipment according to the calculations and the project specifications.
  • Ensure compliance with Authorities requirements.
  • Preparing project engineering submittals (Material Submittals, Method Statements, Shopdrawings, Operation and Maintenance manuals,…etc.)
  • Advising on construction methodologies in coordination with other disciplines/contractors/ subcontractors prior to construction.
  • Supervising the construction in terms of progress, proper methods, material reservation and optimum output of labour.
  • Ensuring that any variations and instructions received from the client are incorporated into the latest construction issued drawings and auctioned by the construction team.
  • Supervise and document the commissioning process in the building.
  • Testing & Commissioning: Carrying out and document functional and performance tests of mechanical systems.
  • Ensuring the Operations & Maintenance manuals as well as handover documents are in line with contract specification and requirements.
  • Coordinate with client for inspections and final approvals.
  • Coordinate with Authorities having jurisdiction for necessary approvals.
  • Conducting training to the owner operation and maintenance staff on the operation of the mechanical systems.

  • 3-8 Years of experience as a Mechanical engieneer in an engineering and contracting or similar industry in GCC
  • BSc Mechanical Engineering
  • Familiar with international codes and standards (ASHRAE, CIBSE, BSRIA,…)
  • Familiar with KSA building codes
  • Sound IT skills.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical systems is a plus

Electrical Engineer - KSA

HVAC TECHNICIAN- KSA

ENGIE Energy Services Saudi Company LLC has an immediate opening for an HVAC technician to join our energy efficiency team in Saudi. The ideal candidate should be an HVAC technician with at least 5 years of experience in the operation and maintenance of chillers, chilled water pumps, AHU/FAHU/ FCUs, DX AC units, lighting systems, hot water systems, etc. The candidate should conduct all measurements following the company’s HSE policy at all times. The candidate will be reporting to the head of the energy audit team. Given the urgency of the recruitment, the successful candidate shall be based in KSA with a transferable visa/iqama. Job Responsibilities

  • Field measurement of air and hydronic systems, using specialized tools and test equipment, such as power meter, ultrasonic flow meter, manometer, anemometer, psychrometer, and thermometer.
  • Site surveys including equipment condition survey and inventory of major end-users of energy.
  • Record the parameters in the defined template in Excel / Word and report to supervisor
  • Perform other duties as assigned, which may include on-site operations or maintenance

Qualifications and experience:

  • Diploma or trade license in mechanical engineering
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in HVAC (O&M, installation, testing, and commissioning)
  • Proficiency in English. Arab speaking will be an advantage.
